GitHub releases an AI-powered copilot to help improve code

GitHub is helping developers to speed up and clean up their code with a new AI-powered tool that it calls Copilot.

GitHub Copilot uses an AI system from OpenAI known as OpenAI Codex. The system claims to have a broad knowledge of how people use code and claims to be “significantly more capable than GPT-3” in generating code.

IBM aims to boost AI hardware performance with new Composer tool

IBM’s new AI Hardware Composer tool aims to boost the performance of analog AI hardware.

The tool is being released on the second anniversary of the IBM Research AI Hardware Center. IBM’s pioneering centre launched in 2019 with the aim of improving AI hardware compute efficiency by 2.5 times every year for a decade.

Microsoft releases two Python video courses which help aspiring AI developers

Microsoft has released two Python video courses to help AI developers get started in what could be a very lucrative career.

The new video courses assume the developer already has a basic standard of Python skills. If you don't, I'm afraid you'll need to brush up on those first. Fortunately, Microsoft released a 44-part "Python for Beginners" series last autumn (or "fall" for our American friends.)

Elon Musk is hosting a ‘super fun’ AI hackathon at his house

Fresh from kicking off his EDM career, Elon Musk has announced Tesla will be hosting a “super fun” AI hackathon at his house.

In a tweet, Musk wrote: “Tesla will hold a super fun AI party/hackathon at my house with the Tesla AI/autopilot team in about four weeks. Invitations going out soon.”
